Craving Cheese but Vegan? Cathedral City has you Covered
Just two years since the company launched Our Plant Based Cheddar Style for Cathedral City, it is upgrading its vegan line-up with a new addition of Cathedral Town Smokey Cheddar flavor block. According to the latest trends, there has been a substantial increase in smoked cheese sales across both the dairy and plant-based segments in recent times, which propels the company to come up with a vegan version of its popular Our Naturally Smoked Cheddar.
To ensure that the new cheese resembled its dairy cousin as closely as possible, Cathedral Town used long-established processes to craft a creamy, smokey flavor with no dairy presence. It is suitable for vegans and anyone desiring a dairy-free alternative.
The Plant-Based Collection from Cathedral City
Indeed, the company believes that the market for alternative cheese of plant-based origin amounts to £42.2 million; these products have penetrated 8% of UK households. It, therefore, does not come as a surprise that Cathedral Town is keen to expand its footprint in such a valuable area.
The new smoked taste is part of the Our Plant Based line, which also includes a mature cheddar-style block, grated cheese, and sandwich slices.
Cathedral City also introduced spreadable cheese alternatives last year, including a Spring Onion and Cracked Black Pepper type. The Cathedral City Plant-Based Smokey Cheddar is only sold at Tesco supermarkets and has a suggested retail price of £3.60.
